■ weekly favorites part 2 ■

I know I haven’t been exactly active, but while I was away, I did acquire some new favorites to share with you all!

  • Quantico: Right off the bat, the FBI has always been an interesting topic to me, and I love how the show is not just about the FBI academy and how the trainees survive to become special agents. The main ploit is mainly about how one of the characters introduced to the audience may be the culprit that has caused a terrorist attack and our main character, Alex Parrish, is wrongfully accused in the middle of the entire investigation The show goes back and forth between months earlier when the characters settle into the academy, establishing relationships with the others with their various intentions for being there, and the aftermath of the attack. Watch it on Hulu here.

  • Heroes Reborn: I wasn’t sure how I got hooked into this show, but this show revolves around the day of June 13th and how the attack that day affects many of the characters that are introduced. From that day, people with powers called Evos, were feared and killed because they were the reason that so many people died on June 13th. There are so many storylines for the different characters that will eventually align together as one whole story that the Evos will cross paths and save the world. The things I love about this show are that there’s actually diversity in the characters’ ethnicities! I was so glad to see a storyline with Japanese characters that will eventually have an important role in the main setting of the show, which is in Odessa, Texas. Having the actor Robbie Kay in this show, whose role is just heartwarming and adorable overall, is also a plus because I really loved him and his acting as Peter Pan in the show Once Upon a Time. Watch the episodes on Hulu here.

  • Ms. Anonymous EP by MAX: Max Schneider has been a pretty well-known Youtuber that does music for a living with his cover videos, but it was awesome to stumble on his new EP on Soundcloud. My favorite song on his album is his song called “Gibberish” featuring Hoodie Allen. Each song is artfully created that showcases Max’s amazing voice, and you should take a listen right here.
  • I realize I haven’t really been dabbling in too much American music lately, so here are a list of Korean pop music that I’ve really been into. Just click on the song titles to go to the links to listen to them!

1. 미안해요 (Sorry)- Park Boram

2. Love Toxic- Royal Pirates

3. Wow Wow Wow (Feat. Eric)- Jun Jin

4. 보통연애 (Ordinary Love) feat. 박보람 (Park Boram)- Park Kyung

5. Closer- OH MY GIRL

6. Dope- BTS

7. Don’t Be Happy feat. MAMAMOO- Bumkey

8. But I Love U- SISTAR

9. RHYTHM TA- iKon

10. One More Step- Kihyun of Monsta X

I hope you’ll like my favorites so far as much as I do, so definitely check them all out with the links I’ve provided. If you have any favorite television shows or songs, definitely comment them because I would love to find some other great songs and shows!

♦ korean styles: get the looks- autumn edition ♦

Untitled-1

As we’re all transitioning from summer looks into warmer styles, I decided to find some outfits that I thought would look good for the fall and find the links to them for you all. Please know that not all the clothes will be 100% exactly like the photo because I couldn’t find the exact ones.

I really like how casual this outfit is, with a plaid shirt, white T-shirt, yellow pants, and a bright yellow snapback. I also thought the outfit would be nice as a plain white dress with the flannel as an option as well.

Red Checkered Flannel ♦ White Shirt/White Dress ♦ Yellow Pants ♦ Yellow Snapback

I really love the floral theme going on in this outfit and it’s definitely a cute, girly look to wear. The cardigan really makes the outfit look more put-together.

Coral Cardigan ♦ Jeans  ♦ Floral Shirt ♦ Beanie

This is more of a street-style that looks effortless and chic with a mixture of a little girly. I really love how the jacket toughens up the look a bit while the choker makes the outfit more feminine.

Green Jacket: Exact or Cheaper Options ♦ Choker ♦ Black Shorts ♦  Belt ♦ Shoes

For a more professional look for work, I liked how this outfit focused on a plum sort of color with the printed skirt that that made the outfit seem more unique. White Blouse ♦ Printed Skirt ♦ Heels: Exact or Cheaper Option ♦ Bag: Exact or Cheaper Options

I instantly loved this outfit because it’s such a cute outfit for an average college student, especially in autumn. The collared shirt with the cardigan makes the outfit preppy and practical for warmth on the colder nights and the bag with the watch are practical uses for a college student or anyone who desires to achieve the preppy but cute look!

Collared Shirt ♦ Cardigan ♦ Black Shorts ♦ Bag ♦ Watch

These are five looks that are suited for the autumn weather and I hope these will help with inspiration for any cute and preppy outfits for the fall. I would love to know which outfit you liked the best and suggestions for any other looks for me to find links for!

*Disclaimer: Nothing from these posts were sponsored and everything was my own opinion because these outfits are just so cute.

☯ tips to boost mental health ☯

Untitled-1

I’m really sorry for not posting lately, but I thought I just needed to take a small break from this blog because I haven’t felt quite right. I’m presuming it’s because of the changing seasons, but here are some tips I thought that might help to make you feel better, if you’re just down in the dumps or maybe just having an off day.

  • Understand that it’s okay to have bad days. It’s not your fault that you just woke up and the day just didn’t feel positive and happy. Everyone has off days, and the people around you will understand. It may be reasonable to have a few bad days, but remember to pick yourself up when you need it. Carpe diem; seize the day! Don’t be afraid.
  • Break your routine once in a while. Have a different routine out of the blue. If it you’re in the mood, do something that you don’t do everyday. Then you’ll look forward to that special thing in your day which will keep you going. A few examples are maybe going to a concert, getting food with your friends; whatever that you want to do that will make your day a little better.
  • Listen to some upbeat music. Listening to happy bright music will make you feel better, so instead of wallowing in some sad ballads, put on some upbeat songs to lift your mood. I recommend “Beat Connection” by Saola (ODEZA Remix) which I’ve mentioned in a few of my previous song recommendations and “Groove” by Jack and Jack. Also, I thought the mainstream pop songs were also be a great pick-me-up like “Bang Bang” by Ariana Grande and “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon.
  • Light a scented candle. You can easily buy a scented candle anywhere, but you should buy a candle with a calming scent that you like. Even though I haven’t had the time to buy a Yankee candle, I plan to buy one with an autumn scent like Vanilla Bourbon or Sugar & Spice, and then light it when I’m feeling stressed out. Having the smell fill the room would just make things feel more calming.
  • Distract yourself. Coming back from school or work may feel stressful, so definitely spending a half hour or so watching your favorite television shows to take the stress off is usually healthy. I’m definitely an addict when it comes to watching television shows, and I find that watching my favorite Korean and American shows is a really good distraction.
  • Take a break and sleep. Maybe you’re cranky and having a bad day because of a lack of sleep. Definitely catch up on some more sleep. If you need to wake up from your nap, make sure to wake up in 90 minutes, as it’s considered the ideal length of a power nap.

I hope these were some tips that will help with lifting your mood and just making you feel better in general. Mental health is really important, so please make sure to take care of yourselves! Ultimately, just do what makes you feel better. If you have any other tips that you use to boost mental health that I didn’t mention, leave it in the comments below for others to have some more advice when dealing with bad days.

☮ 8 television shows you should definitely watch ☮

Untitled-1

I consider myself a rather avid fan of television shows, and sometimes I stumble upon some treasures that just really need to be appreciated more. Some are rather popular and others are underrated, but are all recommendations to watch for either a good laugh or learn an unexpected lesson with sometimes a hint of sentimentality.

  • Scrubs– This is a medical television show that kind of just warmed my heart with its comedy and delightful characters. It’s really understandable to see the high ratings for it because the main character J.D is a naive little puppy intern and with every episode, it feels like he learns a little more about life, love, death, and other subjects as he works in the hospital. Then the other characters are just so delightful to watch as they interact in the hospital workplace and each other. It’s just heartwarming. The only thing I probably dislike about the show is that sometimes events happen in the show that aren’t real because it’s in J.D’s mind and I always get confused if it really happens or not, especially if it seems unlikely to happen.

  • New GirlRight off the bat, the cast is what keeps the show alive. From the first episode, all the characters were hilarious and everything just felt cozy. The heart and soul of the show, Jessica Day is a full-grown adult that has a childlike and naive mindset, but because of her, she finds a cozy and familiar family in her three male roommates who would do anything for her. This is another heartwarming show that have such strange adventures and situations that happen to these characters just makes this show a winner.

  • Fresh Off the BoatEven the slightest mention of this show just makes me laugh. This show is a great comedy starting from the first ten minutes of the first episode. All the characters’ lines are absolutely hilarious and I instantly fell in love with the characters, the plot; just everything. The show features the Huang family moving from their familiar home in Chinatown, Washington D.C to a primarily white neighborhood in Orlando, Florida to support the father’s dreams to own a successful steakhouse. The show centers around the oldest son Eddie who struggles to fit in the other kids. This entire show is absolute hilarious and definitely something to watch for a laugh.

  • House of Anubis– I will agree that this show may be initially judged badly by its status as a nickelodeon show, but I absolutely fell in love with this show a while back. The characters all have their own respective personalities but sweetly tie together as a family as they all live in anubis house. this is a great show with a mix of Egyptian mythology and interesting mysteries that just unfolds puzzle after puzzle to lead to the endgame. it’s just a cast full of cute, mysterious, and totally shippable characters as well as a family that looks out for each other.

  • Dollhouse Honestly I’m a fan of science fiction and anything else to do with dolls and robots. I know I’m weird. But this is a new favorite television show about an underground business called Dollhouse that sends out “dolls” that can have different personalities and skills for every distinct client which are often rich and influential with various intentions. I absolutely love how interesting this show is and how the “dolls” are inserted and extracted with these separate personalities but have no evidence of their original selves. You can tell I’m starting to gush about this show a lot, so I’ll just leave this recommendation here and hope you take my advice to watch this because it’s so good.

  • Revolution I started watching this series starting from the first time the first episode was aired, and I just loved the concept of the show. It is set in the modern world, but when all the electricity stopped working, everyone had to adapt without it and everything just changed. the show features Charlie Matheson, whose father may have the key to figuring why the electricity went out permanently. Watching Revolution was just riveting, so if you like a bit of action, family, and do-or-die survival, this show is definitely something to watch.

  • Reign– I’m usually not a huge fan of historical shows, but this one is just beautiful. Mary, Queens of Scots, lives in France and tries to maintain the political alliance between Scotland and France while trying not to get herself killed by the dangerous people in French court that want her dead. One of the many reasons I watch this show is because of two words. Adelaide. Kane. I absolutely adore her strong presence as Mary, especially when she talks. This show is a whole lot of loyalty, betrayal, love, and a bit of family as well.

  • Sabrina, the Teenage Witch– This is one of those 90s shows, but it’s still really good. Basically the show is about Sabrina as a teenage witch trying to balance her school life along with her magical powers and she deals with situations in her life that go awry. It’s still a great show with amazing characters, like Salem’s sarcastic lines and the contrasting personalities between Sabrina’s two aunts; I absolutely love them. Watch all the episodes on Hulu here.

So here are some of my favorite televisions shows and I hope you’ll like one of these shows to watch. A lot of these shows are on Hulu, Netflix, or any other websites that host these television shows online. If you like any of these, I would love to know what you like about them in the comments, and if you have any favorites of your own, I would love some recommendations as well!

!! weekly favorites !!

Untitled-1

hey, so here is my first weekly favorites! I’ve definitely been liking different music and other things this week.

  • Alessia Cara’s first EP “Four Pink Walls”- This month I went to Alessia’s concert in New York, and I absolutely loved everything. She performed the songs on her album and for each song, she had a story to tell about it. The day after the show, I immediately bought her EP and I absolutely love all the songs on it. The songs are all incredibly interesting and catchy. My favorite song would probably have to be “Four Pink Walls” or “Here”. Soon, I plan on reviewing the songs on her album and also maybe a recap on the concert, which I will link everything once I post them. I’m looking forward to new music she plans to release because she and her voice are incredibly talented. Her songs can be found on her Youtube channel here.

  • Troye Sivan’s 2nd album “Wild”- The Youtuber’s album was released this week, and it is definitely better than his first album. The six songs all have a unique beat and his music is just mesmerizing. They have all definitely rose up to the expectations of the public and mostly have a sad sort of vibe. I really love the arrangements of the different songs and you can hear them in this Soundcloud playlist here.

  • Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home” (TJR 120 bpm refix)- I know this is probably really late for me to like this song since it came out a while ago, but at Alessia Cara’s concert, one of her opening acts sang a cover of this song and I really fell in love with it. This is a remix by TJR and I just really love the quick beats. This is a perfect song to walk to if you’re in a hurry. You can hear the song here.

  • The television series Dollhouse– I found this television show by chance and took an interest in it. I’m really glad I decided to watch it because it’s absolutely so fascinating. The show has such an interesting concept that it has people whose personalities are extracted, so they’re basically “dolls”, and then given certain personalities to be put in and taken out for whatever purpose their designated client wants them for. Then, the story changes as this technology gets out of control.

  • One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” (Acoustic Cover) by Craig Yopp- I had heard the original song once when it first came out, but I didn’t really take an interest in it. I’m not sure why, but I just thought about this song recently and tried to search it up on Soundcloud. Even though I couldn’t find any high-quality ones, I found this really great cover that’s just as good as the original one. Take a listen right here.
  • One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” & 5SOS’s “She’s Kinda Hot” Mashup- While I was looking for a good quality version of One Direction’s “Drag Me Down”, I also found this and decided to give it a listen. Even though I didn’t really find myself attached to “She’s Kinda Hot” when it first came out, I really like this mashup because it was mixed together but it didn’t sound like it was clashing and made it sound like one song. Give it a listen here.

  • Saola’s Beat Connection (ODESZA Remix)- I already heard this song a while back, but after hearing it again in a Youtube video, I went to look for it and I just ended up replaying the song for at least a day or two. I absolutely love the beats in this song as well as the lyrics. Take a listen right here.

So here are my favorites for this week, and I hope you took a listen to all or at least one of their songs because I really love them, especially Beat Connection. If you have any songs that you’ve liked today, I would love some recommendations in the comments. Have a nice week!

☼ review: 3-step sheet mask – vita toning ☼

Untitled-1

Hello, today I’ll be reviewing the Celderma Clinic Vita-Toning 3-Step Sheet Mask! To be honest, I’m a complete newbie to the world of beauty products. For me, a beauty routine is basically washing my face and then calling it a day. But I’m becoming a bit more knowledgeable in the right ways to take care of my skin, so do bear with me as I try to maneuver my way around beauty products and get to know what works for me and what doesn’t. And hopefully, for those of you that are looking to see how well it works, this is the post for you.

I received a bunch of beauty product goodies from going to the beauty workshops in KCON NY, and this product was a sample from Glow Recipe. The online link to the three-step sheet mask can be found here

✧ APPEARANCE:

unnamed (4) unnamed (5)
Here is the front and back of the product. I love how this is completely designed to be portable and a quick process as a facial foam cleanser. I also really appreciate how the three steps are labeled so I won’t ever be confused of which one to use, and all the instructions are written in both Korean and English with explanations on what each step does. Another great thing is that when I’m going to use one step at a time, I can tear it neatly so I don’t accidentally open up any of the other parts. Sorry if the photos are too small, but I’m pretty sure you can click to enlarge them.

✧ TL;DR:

  • Nice packing
  • Easy to rip
  • Easily portable
  • Instructions in both Korean and English
  • Gets the job of cleaning the face finished in three easy steps
  • Has the steps labeled out for newbies like me

✧ USAGE:

I first used the facial foam cleanser, and I must say that tearing the small packet was a bit difficult. If you’ve bought this product, make sure to open it with scissors because the package is very durable and protects the inside components. The facial foam cleanser looked a bit like lotion, and when I applied it on my face, it kind of felt like a cleanser I suppose. I remember thinking that my face with the facial cleanser felt like I had applying lotion except it didn’t absorb into my skin. Once I had finished washing my face, it felt very squeaky clean. Then after a while, my face felt clean, nourished, and a bit soft.

For the ampoule and face mask, I wasn’t able to use it myself, but I did see the effects because I had my friend use it. I opened the package to the ampoule and the liquid inside was a bit thicker than water and when it was applied. The ampoule smelled really clean and refreshing, and it felt saturated against the face.

As for the mask, when it was taken out of its packaging, it was very watery and slippery. The mask was in one full part, and was a little  difficult taking it apart to stretch against the face. Since my friend didn’t like these kinds of masks that were extremely full of  moisture, she had taken it off rather quickly. However, I did find that her face was soft and supple. However she did say that the openings of the face mask weren’t well cut and felt way too sticky for her preference.

✧ AFTERMATH

All of these components in the packages were all designed to make the face softer and cleaner. I personally thought that because I prefer a little product rather than adding on many different layers such as toner, ampoule, exfoliators, etc. Despite that I only used the facial cleanser for my own face, I thought using only the cleanser already made a difference to how my face felt. I must admit that I was rather disappointed with the mask though, but I could safely believe that the nutrients in the mask would definitely make the face and skin more moist.

RATING: ✧✧✧/5
I hope you found this review to be at least a bit informative but hopefully I will improve my skills at reviewing new products. If you’ve tried this product, I would love to hear your experience with it in the comments below.

✗ ten important concert tips!!! ✗

Untitled-1

Even though I’m not a frequent concert-goer compared to most people, I think I’ve seen my fair share of what to generally expect before, during, and after a concert. These are ten important tips to remember.

  • Be prepared the day before. You might want to bring a few things with you during the concert, depending on where the venue is. If the concert is inside, I suggest bringing a light jacket or a flannel in the lighter seasons. If it’s outside, maybe wear sunscreen or even sunglasses. Wear closed-toed shoes so your feet won’t hurt if you spend most of the day walking.  For people who have long hair, you might want to bring a hair tie especially if you’re in a crowd full of sweaty people and it’s summer. Check if the tickets are ready to go so you don’t forget them the next day. Definitely bring a bag to put anything you buy or need to bring.
  • Unless it’s guaranteed, don’t expect anything. If it’s not a part of the ticket you bought, a fan meet or taking a photo with the celebrity/celebrities is not guaranteed to you. It mostly depends on how lucky you are and your determination to get a little more than what you paid for. Definitely try to get that selfie or maybe even a hug from the celebrity/celebrities if you can!
  • You’re probably going to wait in line for a while, so get to the venue early! Depending on the concert and what ticket level you buy as well as what it offers, it is most likely that you’ll be waiting outside the venue along with a lot more people to get in early or get a good spot near the stage. Being in front of the line may take a few hours of standing and boredom. A good tip is to make friends with the people on the line. They’re most likely fans too, so talking about the concert and the artist’s songs may make the hours go by faster and you can make a new friend with a similar interest in music as you!
  • Definitely charge your phone the day before or bring a charger and set aside enough storage for all the videos and photos you’ll take. I always make sure to do this because I really hate when the concert moments pass me by and I have to delete whatever apps I can quickly let go so I can take more photos or videos.
  • WEAR CLOTHES WITH POCKETS. Especially for girls than the guys, our shorts and jeans mostly don’t have pockets, so make sure to wear something with pockets so you can put your phone or whatever you need in there while you’re dancing along to the music or clapping along with the beat. I hate when it’s so uncomfortable holding my phone while I clap or I can only raise one arm just because I don’t have pockets in my shorts.
  • Bring a little more cash than you usually do. It’s likely that there will be a table for merchandise, so be sure to have a bit more moola at hand. It’s always nice to get something as a souvenir for the memories you make during concert night.
  • Bring your friends! If your friends are interested in the concerts that you’re going to or you want to go to, having a friend to go with can make any intimidating situation a little less scary. It’s also safer to get to and from the concert with a friend, especially if it’s at night and runs late.
  • Do all your eating and snacking before the concert. You don’t want to be hungry and dehydrated when it starts. Either eat early before or on the line waiting to get in. Unless it’s an outdoor concert, it’s most likely that you can’t bring any liquids or foods inside the venue, and will probably be thrown in the trash before you can go in. It’s really a hassle so make sure to drink and eat everything that you have on you.
  • Don’t make a huge effort videotaping the entire concert. As much as you would like to have videos of the concert as memories, you’ll only end up having the memories of videotaping them. Don’t be so fixated on getting footage to put on social media or saving it so you’ll remember it. A thing I usually do to bring back some footage rather than none is to get a video with the audio and an occasional scene of the stage by putting my phone in my pocket so I can get some video but also enjoy the show. It’s not ideal but it’s still something to remember the concert by.
  • Biggest tip is to have fun! Remember that this is a day to enjoy, relax, and have fun. You paid for this, so you should get the experience you paid for. It’s important to prepare for the necessities but mostly go with the flow with everything that happens on concert day. Some things may not go as planned, but going along with it may lead to greater opportunities.

So these were my ten important tips to remember if you’re going to a concert! I hope maybe you found this post to be a bit helpful to those of you looking for advice for your first concert; this is probably a summary of what you should know, and maybe a refresher for those who have been to a couple of concerts too. If you have any more tips, comment them down below because I would love to know some more tips for the next time I go to a concert!

☆ playlist: summertime sadness ☆

Untitled-1

Since summer is starting to fade, I decided to find a few songs that could help cure that summertime sadness to get ready for autumn.

  • For You (Bearcubs Remix) – Gavin James

I was first introduced to Gavin James when I went to Tori Kelly’s concert where he was the opening act. By the way, Tori Kelly is another great artist to check out too. Because his music was really good, I remembered to check if he had any music on Soundcloud, which is basically my go-to website and app to listen and find music. One of his songs that I found was “For You”. I absolutely love this remix for a sad song which really gives off the bittersweet summer vibes.

  • Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood (Cover) – Alessia Cara

This song is basically about awaiting the colder months and starting to wear sweaters as the nights get longer. With Alessia’s voice, she gives the song just that unique tone. I am so in love with this because it’s a really great cover with simply a great voice and an acoustic sound. Alessia Cara is definitely an artist that I love right now, so you’ll probably see more posts mentioning her but she’s definitely worth checking out.

  • Body Gold (Louis the Child Remix) – Oh Wonder

I absolutely adore this remix, I’m not even kidding. The song starts slow but then it eventually builds up to the remix part of the song and it sounds divine. I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. The beats are amazing and the end just leaves you wanting more. Oh Wonder has been releasing songs once a month for a year, so definitely check out the rest of the songs they have here.

  • Runaway (Dillon Francis Remix) – Galantis

Just like the song title, I’m pretty sure many of us are dreading back-to-school season and the colder days, so I think this song is a great song to exercise to! It’s also perfect for remembering the summer mood, and the beat of the remix is just amazing.

  • Uma Thurman (Wiz Khalifa Boys of Zummer Remix) – Galantis

I think most people have heard of Fall Out Boy because of their most popular songs recently, but I must admit that I don’t listen to most of their songs even though I do have friends who are fanatical about them. This song just came up and since most of the songs on this post are a bit sad and bittersweet, I decided to throw in this kind-of motivational and catchy song. I will admit that there are parts of this song that slightly sounds irritating, but it definitely grew on me. The Wiz Khalifa rap makes the song much better.

Here are five songs to get ready for the summer transition into autumn. I hope you’ve discovered new songs from this post and do comment if you like any of them or you have your own music recommendations to get ready for autumn!Untitled-2
